The Real Thing Variety Band

Was attending the Gilbert Off the Street Festival when I heard what I thought was recorded music, a Joss Stone song, I think it was Super Duper. Not until we got closer did we realize it was a live band. WOW! That's all I can say. WOW! We listened to a few more songs before we had to leave, wish we could've stayed for your whole set. Your band is amazing!

I saw this band at McCormick Stillman Railrod park just last week and also last year when they played there. I was so impressed I had to meet the bass player after the show last year because I really appreciate someone who has great tone and is completely locked in with the drummer. I believe he plays an Ibanez five string if I’m not mistaken. (I play bass too so I am always impressed when I hear a good bassist). They had a different drummer this year and the guy was unbelievable. Add to that some great guitar riffs along with a little mix of really cool keyboard and finally some outstanding vocals and you have a complete package of musical bliss. I highly recommend you check this band out if you have never seen them before. Trust me you are in for a treat. I wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them play again real soon. My wife and I have attended every single concert for Music in May here in Anthem this summer and I've got to tell you that we were completely blown away by The Real Thing this past weekend! The talent of the singers was out of this world and the range of songs you played was so impressive. We had neighbors and friends there of all ages and every single one of them was having just as much fun as we were. Thank you for such a wonderful evening, we can't wait to see you again. You've definitely gained a family of new fans!

I had the opportunity to hear The Real Thing Jam out this weekend at the Scottsdale Ranch Park. I was taken back in the variety of covers they could do on beat, off the fly. I'd hear the lead singer say, alright "My girl'-- and it was 1-2-3 boom! Next 'cake by the ocean' 1-2-3 BOOM! On point, no time needed no music sheets or lyrics. I was just so impressed with how well rounded the band was and my Mother was too, She was out there in the park dancing! "Im like thank you for not serving beer,"
It was really good time, I enjoyed and literally just sent a mass email at work because we work near Tukees and Charlies where apparently the band often plays, I'm going to give the DJ a break at the Sandbar this Friday and go see The Real Thing again. Real Talk!

What was your biggest fear before hiring us? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?

I was worried that our guests wouldn't recognize songs and wouldn't stay on the dance floor. I also worried it would be too loud during dinner. NONE of these worries came true!! Our dance floor was packed all night, just as I had wanted and the dinner music and volume level was perfect.

What, specifically, was your favorite part of having The Real Thing as your band, and why?

I really appreciated how easy going and accommodating the entire band was! My ceremony got moved inside to our reception room very last minute and everyone did what they had to do to make it happen! The ceremony music was perfect; just as we had planned for the outside space. Melisza and her sister did an amazing job keeping us on track throughout the night. We got a late start, but I never stressed about it. The girls always clued me in to what was coming next, so it never felt like an issue. They even took fewer breaks than originally discussed, which did not go unnoticed. They really went above and beyond for us!

If you were to recommend us to your best friend, what would you say?

If you want everyone to have a great time at your wedding, hire this band!! Melisza was SO easy to work with. Any request, recommendation, question I had; she was always so helpful. Our reception was a BLAST and we owe it all to The Real Thing!! So many of our guests approached me throughout the night to tell me how much they loved the band and I couldn't agree more. I never left the dance floor and neither did most of our reception guests. It was a night to remember and I would hire them again in a second if it meant we could do it all over again.

What can we say about The Real Thing but "WOW!" We had a celebration at our home and the minute the band arrived, the excitement level started to rise. As more people arrived and the band finished setting up we were ready for a great experience, and they truly delivered. The whole group sounded wonderful and they went all out for our crowd. They were great to work with and easily came up with a playlist that reflected us. They were very respectful of the setting and repeatedly checked in with us to make sure that we were enjoying the night and we were not upsetting the neighbors. By the end of the night there was no one left sitting and the yard was crowded with dancers. We look forward to the next chance to work with them.

When I first saw this fabulous Trio, it was about 9 months ago at a wine bar in Gilbert. I was blown away! Great vocals, guitarist, and song choice. I got their business card and started following them at Tukee's both as a trio and a full band. I knew one day, I would have a private party and hire them and it would be the party of a lifetime! Well that day just happened on November 15th! About 35 of our friends were treated to an incredible intimate evening with Melisza, Jessica, and Terry. They also let me sit-in on the bass on 2 of my favorite songs!! Our friends are still talking about the party and the musical performance and are planning a large group outing to see them at Tukee's real soon!!

Melisza, we cannot thank you and your band enough for the amazing vocals and instrumental talent of your group!!!!! You made our daughter's wedding so lively and fun, everyone can't stop talking about all of you! I am definitely going to have to see you perform in the near future!
