IS YOUR BAND THE RIGHT SIZE FOR MY EVENT?
The Real Thing has performed for audiences from 25 to 5,000. Even though at full-size we are a 6-piece band, we have a state of the art sound system along with a Grammy award-winning sound engineer running it; these things combined allow us to truly control our volume to fit every event perfectly.
The sound system mentioned above not only allows us to be quiet, but also very compact and space efficient when necessary. We typically ask for a 12'x24' performance space but we can fit on a smaller stage or unusual spaces if necessary. We can make just about anything work.
CAN I CUSTOMIZE YOUR SET LIST?
The short answer is yes. You can be as involved, or uninvolved in the song selections as you like. We recommend picking your top 5 favorites and not-so-favorites from our song list. This gives us a good idea of your preferences while still giving us the freedom to do what we do best --- pack the dance floor!
DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN SOUND AND LIGHTING?
Yes. We can provide all of our own sound production, engineer, and stage lighting.
DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN STAGE?
No, we do not own or provide our own stage. However, we do not require a stage to perform. Having a stage is always preferred, but not a necessity.
DO YOU PROVIDE RECORDED MUSIC DURING YOUR BAND BREAKS?
Yes, for our private events we provide recorded music during our breaks.
WILL SOMEONE IN THE BAND MAKE ANNOUNCEMENTS?
Yes, we can emcee all of your announcements, special moments, etc. during your event as long as we are provided with a clear itinerary.
DO YOU TRAVEL?
Yes, we travel nationally on a regular basis.
DO YOU TAKE SONG REQUESTS?
Yes, the band takes song requests. We provide a free song request with our 4-hour performance package. This allows you to choose a song for the band to learn and perform at your event. Additional song requests can be purchased if needed.
WHAT IS YOUR BOOKING PROCESS?
Once you have notified us that you are ready to book The Real Thing we will place a firm hold on your date. You will be sent our questionnaire that will provide us with all the information we need to draft a contract. Once you have reviewed the contract and any necessary adjustments have been finalized - you will then print, sign, and mail in the contract with the 50% deposit. This process can also be done with an in-person meeting/signing. You will be sent or given a fully executed contract upon receipt/signing-day. The remaining balance is owed on the day of the event one hour prior to the performance.
